EngageNC Kicks off 2023 With Three New Board Members
RALEIGH, North Carolina—March 1, 2023—EngageNC, a nonprofit creating jobs for adults with autism/IDD in the North Carolina Triangle, has named three new members to its board of directors.
Taryn DeLong returns to her previous role as secretary of the board. She is the co-president and editor-in-chief of Catholic Women in Business and a freelance writer and editor who lives in eastern Wake County with her husband and their daughter. From 2018 to 2019, Taryn participated in a national initiative organized by SourceAmerica and the Office of Personnel Management to understand the state of disability employment in the U.S. She was one of the editors of the subsequent report, published in 2020.
Leslie V. Boles is the co-owner and president of Revu Healthcare, an instructor at Rutgers University in New Jersey, and the co-chair of the board of directors at Grateful Heart Church. She previously served as senior director of compliance and audit at Waud Capital Partners, a health care equity firm, and has the credentials of CCS, CPC, CPMA, CHC, CPC-I and CRC.
Jay Lieberman, a lawyer, recently relocated with his wife to the Raleigh area from Los Angeles to continue to grow his real estate business, as well as to be close to his two daughters who live nearby. He has served on various school, religious, and local real estate association boards and committees over the years.
“We are excited about the experience and expertise Taryn, Leslie, and Jay bring to the board,” said Bruce Kirschenbaum, president of the board. “As we look to continue our support for workers with autism/IDD this year, having these new members on our board helps put us in a better position to make an even greater impact in 2023.”
EngageNC supports employment for people with autism/IDD through the thrift store it owns and operates, HANDmeUPs; its support of other businesses that employ people with autism/IDD; and its advocacy for improved employment policies and practices.
